Over 97% of the total seats in the undergraduate programmes in Banaras Hindu University have been filled as the university winds up the regular rounds of UG admissions for academic session 2026–27.
Over 97% of the total seats in the undergraduate programmes in Banaras Hindu University have been filled as the university winds up the regular rounds of UG admissions for academic session 2026–27. Of the total 4826 seats up for grabs in the Varanasi and Barkachha campuses, 4720 seats have been occupied, accounting for 97.80% of the total number.
The figure excludes seats under the Bachelor of Performing Arts (BPA) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) programmes. Practical rounds for these programmes are being conducted, which will be concluded soon.
As the regular round culminates, the University has now opened registration for the Spot Round of undergraduate admissions. Registrations began from the evening of August 21. Candidates seeking admission against the remaining seats can register for the Spot Round from August 21 to August 24.
The allotment of seats under the Spot Round will take place on August 25. Candidates are advised to complete the registration process within the stipulated timeline and regularly check the official admission portal for updates and further details.
